17 weeks

We had our 17 week check up today. I lost more weight, but my doctor assures me it's fine. I'm measuring right on time. He went to check the heart beat and it couldn't be heard. That was the worse feeling I have ever had. I could see that my doctor was also a little nervous. Naturally the water works turned on, and I lost it. Tyler and my doctor were trying to comfort me, but it wasn't working! Dr. Hamilton took us in for a quick ultrasound to make sure the baby was fine. So I laid there feeling terrible, Tyler next to me, and my doctor standing beside me with his hand on my leg. At first I didnt love Dr. Hamilton because he's so laid back, but as high strung as I am, I think he's exactly the doctor I needed. As soon as the ultrasound showed up on the screen I could see a little heart just flickering away, and a beautiful baby moving around. I have NEVER felt so happy, in love, relieved and just in awe in my life! So afterall the 3 minute heart ache, the appointment ended better than I expected. It was the first time we had gotten to see our baby, so it was an unexpected surprise (Dr. Hamilton also told us he wouldnt be charging for this ultrasound, woo hoo! One less bill! ha!) Seeing my child for the first time, was unreal. It's amazing to be so in love with someone you haven't met or seen in person. We go tomorrow morning at 10:45 for our 3d-4d Ultrasound to find out if the baby is a Jackson or a Sophia/Aubrey (we can't agree on a girl name). I will post a picture of me I took Monday (16 1/2) weeks along and a picture of the ultrasound! It is a great picture, you can see the arms and legs, torso, even the little mouth, eyes and nose!

182 Beats Per Minute

We had our 13 week check up today. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat, and it was 182 BPM, it was truly an amazing feeling to hear our baby's beating heart! I can't even explain the emotions i felt. Happy, excited, relieved, and just in love! I never imagined how in love I would be with a person I havent seen or met yet! I'm measuring perfectly at 13 weeks, I did lose some weight (Dr. Hamilton said it was fine), and I'm feeling great so everything is going the way it should! We go back in 4 weeks, then we will do the sequential screening for downs syndrome and trisomy 18. I have a history of Neural Tube Defects, so just to be on the safe side we decided to go through with it. We will love our baby no matter the sex, or if there are any problems. Medically, I want to be prepared and know what we need to do if the baby would have an issue. If someone is going to operate on my infant, I would prefer to have met with them before! We can only pray and hope for the best, but I'm a very prepared person! I still have a feeling this little baby is a girl! I asked the doctor if there was any truth behind the old wives tales of telling what the baby is by a heart rate, and he said nope! He asked me what I thought it was, I said girl and he agreed! Poor Tyler just sat there and laughed. He wants a boy so badly! I just want a healthy, sweet baby! I am loving being pregnant, and have a little belly now! It's all feeling so real! I LOVE IT!

Baby on the way!

September 17 changed the rest of our lives. We found out that afternoon that we are pregnant! I couldn't believe it, I took 5 tests! And they were all positive! We are very nervous and very excited! I kind've had the baby fever a couple months ago, and I have a new nephew and he's now 6 weeks old. I really thought it over and decided it wasn't the greatese idea to start "trying". Well, to our surprise, look what happened! We are thrilled now! I am 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant, very tired, not much of an appetite and my back hurts! Baby Bettinger will make his/her arrival April 30 2010! Tyler really wants a boy, I just want a healthy baby! We like the name Carson, for a boy. Aubrey for a girl. The middle names are secrets! Hopefully either the week of or after Thanksgiving we can find out what the baby is! It'll be quite the adventure, but I think we're ready! We went last week for our prescreening appointment; I had blood drawn, we answered a million questions for the nurse and we met with the insurance lady to pay our deposit on the baby (which sounds so weird to do). We go back this thursday for an exam and hopefully and ultrasound!

This isn't our baby, but this is what it looks like at 9 weeks!

Back to reality

Is it seriously August? I can't believe it! This year is GONE! July was a great month! My amazing nephew turned 4! He is the best kid in the world, seriously! I have some cute pictures from his Hot Wheels Birthday Party! We then celebrated my Mom's Birthday, just had dinner and gave her gifts!
Tyler and I took a 4 day weekend, and stayed in a nice lake house in Kimberling City. It was perfect. It was cute and cozy, with an inground pool, a walk down a hill to the lake, and a boat slip for Tyler! It was perfect! Let's see if he thinks ahead and does something in February for my birthday! HA! :) I will post some pictures from that weekend as well!
I've been wanting to cook more lately, and this week I have cooked 3 out of 4 nights! One night was Tyler's step dad's 50th birthday, so we went over there for pizza and tomorrow night is Drew's going away party at Brew Co. so I won't get to cook tomorrow night either :(. I've actually loved cooking and trying all new recipes, so tonight I've been on a mission and made a recipe book for myself! I am going to surprise Nikki and make one for her too, eventually :)
ENJOY!

I'm terrible at this!

Thought I'd add a couple pictures! Tyler 4 Wheeling and Sweet Chloe!
I forget I have this thing! So please forgive me! July is a crazy month! My best friend Nikki, just celebrated her 24th birthday Sunday! We went with our husbands to Flame for dinner, it was amazing! Tyler's family was in from Idaho, and I got to meet them, they were so much fun! His cousin Justin graduated from bootcamp last Friday with honors! He'll be living here next month! His orders "say" that he'll be here for 2 1/2 years, but everyone knows how the military goes! This Friday Brayden will turn 4!!! I can't believe it! His party will be Saturday! He's so much fun now that he's this big! I will say I miss my little baby though :(. Then, Sunday is my Mom's birthday! Then the 30th is Tyler's 26th! We got a Lake House in Kimberling City for the weekend of his birthday. It will be great to get away just the two of us! He's been working so much lately, it will be a much needed break for him! We can't wait! Well, there's your monthly update! Gotta finish dinner!

Now that we've been married for 2 months.....

SO. Weddings take up too much time. I pretty much forgot that I had a blog! haha I just noticed that my last blog was titled "88 Days" eek!
The wedding went great! We had a beautiful day, the weather was perfect! Sunny and high 70's! Who would've guessed? Everything went on time, and smooth. The entire day went by so quickly! Everything was beautiful and fun though!
The Honeymoon was beautiful! We drove from Springfield to Galveston, TX. Got there Saturday night, had a little trouble getting a hotel room (thanks to my travel agent, who advised me to not book a room, that there would be plenty of hotels). Apparently our Travel Agent had never heard of Hurricane Ike, because that Ike guy pretty much wiped half of the businesses out that were near the sea wall! We did get a room though! And the next day by 12:00 we were on the ship! The ship was huge! The day after the wedding was when Swine Flu broke out. Due to this, our trip to Cozumel got cancelled, which was disappointing. We went to Jamaica and Grand Cayman. Both islands were beautiful! Jamaica was a little scary, but once we got to Margaritaville and starting drinking at 9:30 am (and i'm not a drinker!) we had a blast! From there we went to a resort and swam in the beautiful Caribbean, and laid out on the beach. Grand Cayman was beautiful as well. Tyler was a little disappointed there, all there was to do was SHOP. Not exactly his favorite! The locals were easier to be around though!

Overall the wedding, the honeymoon, and life as a married couple is great!

88 Days!

AHH! I can't believe we're this close! I feel like there are a million things to do, but really there isn't a lot left. Being OCD comes in handy when planning a wedding. Finally got tuxs ordered, flowers picked out, reception rentals ordered. Now I need to finalize the flower order and print my invitations! My Mom will come in very handy in the next couple of weeks addressing my inviation envelopes. I kind've went back and forth whether to print labels for my guest's address, or to hand write them. Hand written seems so much more "personal". Printed labels, seem so much more quick haha. That's what my Mom's for though, she has prettier writing than myself!

I'd been going back and forth on whether we should register for gifts or not, my clients insisted that I register because they all want to get us a gift. I gave in, and forced Tyler to go to Target and join me. He didn't have nearly as much fun as I!
